A year’s lesson plan for NCERT English Class 1 (Marigold and Raindrops)
This plan is for the earlier NCERT Class 1 books, Marigold and Raindrops, which many schools still use. NCERT’s newer Class 1 book is Mridang.
The NCERT syllabus has two books for Class 1 English: Marigold, with 10 units, and Raindrops, with 19 chapters. Both should be finished within the year, so it is important to plan how many days each chapter gets.
Teachers rarely get the whole year: there are about 10 months of teaching, and three exams fall inside them. To finish both books, complete one Raindrops chapter every week and one Marigold unit every two weeks. Each title below links to its video.
